CHALLENGE
Bash Creative’s annual retreat isn’t just another company perk; it’s a strategic reset. With a fully remote team that had just expanded from eight to eleven, we needed an experience that welcomed brand-new hires, re-energized long-tenured teammates, and allowed everyone to experience the human-to-human connection we aim to create for our clients and their attendees.
The brief: craft a four-day program that balances deep leadership training, purposeful bonding, and seamless logistics.
The challenge: with limited time, resources, and a tight budget, create an environment and experience that is rooted in intention and feels as special and intentional as it would with endless budget, time, and resources.
SOLUTION
From travel and vendor coordination to designing inclusive moments where every voice felt seen, to presenting an elevated brand and vision for the company. We set out to create a space where tenure, titles, and time zones melted away.
We immersed the team in the breathtaking redwoods of Guerneville, letting nature be the classroom. We invested in leadership training for the whole team, not just management, because we believe in a collection of voices, not just a few.
Our agenda included activities to engage both sides of the brain and provide much-needed respite. With each evening ending with breaking bread and sharing stories of our lives.
OUTCOME
What was the impact of intentional experience design? Here is some of the feedback we received:
“This experience was so rewarding and made me feel challenged, supported, and grateful to be part of such a beautiful team of people.”
“I truly appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual and team. Our team retreat is an incredibly generous and thoughtful event that inspires me to treat the people in my life with the same luxury and consideration.”
“Not many companies invest in their employees, let alone do so as intentionally and thoughtfully as you both do.”
Every team member walked away feeling more connected, creatively recharged, and aligned with the deeper purpose behind our work.
