Inside Canva Create: A Corporate Event Producer’s Honest Takeaways

Let’s start planning your next corporate event?

Evaluating the operational wins, the logistical bottlenecks, and the 2026 trends shaping our industry.

There is a specific energy that comes from attending a massive conference, not just as an event producer, but as an actual fan of the product. When I headed to SoFi Stadium for Canva Create, I was fully prepared to soak in the new features. But when you manage event logistics at Bash Creative, you never truly turn off that second lens. You immediately notice the traffic flow, the crowd management, and the brilliant operational decisions that keep thousands of people moving.
From the moment I walked in, it was clear this company treats its community like a true lifestyle brand. The aesthetic was vibrant, with attendees leaning into a neon dress code. The Canva employees, officially called Canvanauts, were everywhere as directional staff and operated flawlessly. The wayfinders went out of their way to offer photo ops, discuss the platform, and explain the meaning behind their specific shirt colors. It established a warm, welcoming tone the second you arrived.
As an event production professional, I always watch how clients in large-scale venues utilize the footprint. While the main keynote took place inside, all three breakout stages were custom, freestanding structures built directly in the SoFi outdoor foyer. It was an inventive use of space, though the demand for content meant that even with pre-booking, rooms hit capacity while attendees were still waiting in line.
The crowd control for the keynote, however, was highly impressive. Seating was managed with the strict precision of a Disney theme park queue. Seat escorts were organized (and vocal), filling every single chair in an orderly fashion to ensure the audience looked flawless for the cameras recording every moment, with no movement allowed during the broadcast.
Another major operational win was the coffee bar. We all know how quickly caffeine lines can bottleneck a morning schedule, but their queue management was a masterclass in efficiency. By positioning a dedicated attendant to take orders at the front of the line, the two baristas never had to break their rhythm to interact. Adding menus to the top of the stanchions instead of taping a standard sheet to the cart meant attendees were ready to order the second they stepped up. It was frictionless and highly strategic.
Finally, the tech stack supporting the event was solid. Integrating app adoption at conferences is a well-known struggle across the event industry. There are so many on the market, but often flop when attendees get on-site, but their Eventbase app delivered! The well-timed push notifications kept everyone informed and on track, proving that when event tech is deployed strategically, it enhances the attendee journey.
On the programming side, the physical energy present on the stage was intentional. There was not a single chair on ANY of the stages. Speakers maintained energy and momentum by either pacing the stage or presenting from a standing desk. The true content lightbulb moment happened about twenty-five minutes into the keynote when they unveiled their new AI tools. They demonstrated a feature that automatically generates custom client pitch decks while perfectly locking in brand standards. Watching that happen live, I immediately calculated the amount of manual research and design hours a tool like that could redirect back into our sales team’s high-level strategy time.
Canva Create reminded me exactly why I love this industry. It comes down to the ambition of the work, the belief that if you design an experience carefully enough, you can change how people think, connect, and create. That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Bash with every event we produce. I left SoFi with a sharper operational eye and a longer list of questions I want to keep asking.
